The Oxfordshire Strategic Schools Partnership Board (SSPB) wishes to fund a 2 year secondment to lead on Teacher Recruitment for Oxfordshire. The role will be for the equivalent of 2 days per week during school term time, with the days and times negotiable.

The SSPB recognises that teacher supply is an increasing challenge for Oxfordshire schools and is funding this secondment in order to assist schools with employing high quality teachers to support pupil progress and achievement.

  • Marketing – support schools with their advertising through producing guidance and example material

  • Promotion of Oxfordshire – create online marketing to promote Oxfordshire as a great place to live and work as a teacher

  • Overseas Recruitment – support overseas applicants with finding positions in Oxfordshire schools, and support Oxfordshire schools with recruiting overseas applicants. Develop contacts and build links with appropriate overseas institutions, such as teacher training organisations

  • Overseas InductionProgramme – co-ordinate the development and implementation of an induction programme for overseas teachers taking up employment in Oxfordshire

  • Return to Teaching – co-ordinate a Return to Teaching Programme, including bidding for external funding as appropriate

  • Applicant Database – lead the development on an online applicant database and engage with stakeholders to facilitate matching of employee with employers

  • Social Media – use social media to promote the above activities where appropriate and to engage with stakeholders

  • Media Liaison – engage with local and national media to promote R&R activities as appropriate

  • Finance – promote the value of the R&R Lead role with schools, whilst developing income generating activities to ensure the financial self-sustainability of the role by the end of the second year

The role will be a secondment, with the successful applicant released from their employing organisation, with the organisation’s permission, for the equivalent of 2 days per week, during school term time from September 2017 to July 2019.  The Recruitment Lead will report to the Director of the Oxfordshire Teaching Schools Alliance, a member of the SSPB.

The SSPB will fund the secondment to cover actual salary and ‘on-costs’ of employer’s National Insurance and Pension contributions up to a maximum of L15 on the Teachers Leadership Group Pay Range. However, please note the secondment is also open to non-teaching staff.

Application is by letter and CV. The letter should address how you meet the person specification for the role.  Applicants will also need to confirm that they have the permission of the head of their organisation to apply for the role and to provide that person’s contact details so that we may contact them to ask for a reference.
